Jill Krutick is a contemporary abstract expressionist whose paintings trace the artist’s joyful path of self-discovery and creative exploration. Using only texture, form, and color, the artist suggests the intense beauty and constant flux of nature: galaxies, skies, blossoms, and tides. Influenced by modern and contemporary masters such as Van Gogh, Monet, and Rothko, Krutick combines abstract expressionist gestures, impressionist luminosity, and personal symbols of change.

Jill Krutick's Ice Cube Series: The Ice Cube shape has emerged as Krutick artistic fingerprint — triumphantly expressing the human spirit through adversity. The Ice Cube series represents the process involved in overcoming personal challenges. The use of geometric shapes depicts the idea of a  set “boundary” or, conversely, being “boxed in.” The molten gold in the middle of many of the Ice Cube works represents the fire from within to overcome a battle capable of melting the boundaries of the cube. Drips on the canvas symbolize the fragments of the obstacle that remain and the memories now inscribed in the story.

Small additions to the Ice Cube series, using layers of pale blues like seafoam and periwinkle to create depth and charm. The central gold flames appear to twinkle as it slips between the layers of paint, revealing itself as the frosty colors begin to “melt” away.
