This lush LetterScape work is a tribute to Princess Diana of Wales. The rich purples, pinks and pastels exude feminism and passion, traits long associated with the legacy of the beautiful, gracious Diana. The pointed “D” is a metaphor for her ceaseless energy and being always in dynamic, forward motion.

Burkhardt won a prestigious Lorenzo il Magnificio de Medici medal for his mixed media work in Notism at the 2005 Florence Biennale.
